Hey! My name is Stefano and in the past years I have launched from A to Z several ecommerce stores.
Each one of them generated multiple 6 figures in sales.
It's easy to sell when you already have an established audience on social media.
But what if you don't have followers and maybe even a product?!
Ecommerce is a booming and growing industry but it's not easy to start if you don't know what you are doing.
The risk is to burn a lot of money doing bad choices.
I have identified several "pain points" when it comes to start an ecommerce today.
Here are some of them:
✅ Picking the right product
✅Targeting the right audience
✅Build the right funnel
Product:
95% of sales of my stores are coming from one product. That's it.
That's why picking a winning product is so important.
A winning product is a product able to grab your attention and trigger an impulsive buying.
It's a product you won't be able to find easily at the convenient store next door.
A low ticket product can be priced below $100
That's what you need to sell to validate the market.
Audience
All the traffic comes from Facebook and Instagram ads and it's the result of mixing cold traffic and lookalike audience.
The most difficult part, when you run paid ads on Facebook and Instagram is to drive the first sales and gather data.
When you start running ads you are literally investing money to buy data.
Once Facebook understands the right audience for your product you will start converting traffic into sales and then you will be able to create a lookalike audience.
That means Facebook will start looking for people similar to your customers. And this is when the real fun begins :)
Funnel:
How you structure your store is very important.
You need to have a sales funnel optimized to drive conversions and increase the AOV (Average Order Value)
Since the cost to acquire a customer on Facebook is getting expensive you need to increase your average order value.
The more a customer spends inside your store, the more you will profit.
Ex. Scenario 1:
-You sell a product for $29
- Facebook CPA (cost per acquisition) is $15
- Cost of good is $5
_ Your profit is around $9
Ex. Scenario 2:
-You sell a product for $29
- Facebook CPA (cost per acquisition) is $15
- You have a cross-sell product for $19
- Your cost of products is $10
- Your profit is now around $23
